TPD investigating shooting at Campus Walk student apartments that left one victim injured.

The Tallahassee Police Department is investigating an early Monday morning shooting at a student apartment complex that left one person injured.

An emailed incident alert from TPD said officers responded to a shooting at Campus Walk Apartments at 2:15 a.m. Upon arrival, officers were able to locate physical evidence of a shooting, but no victims were on the scene.

As officers continued their investigation a man arrived at a local hospital “with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.” The victim was taken to the hospital by “someone known to him.”

As of noon on Monday, it is unclear if the victim was the target of the shooting, TPD noted, as well as the circumstances that led up to the shooting. The investigation remains ongoing.

The incident marked the 50th serious shooting in the capital city and county this year.

According to a Tallahassee Democrat analysis of gun violence , 20 people have died and at least 40 people have been injured so far in 2024.
