Comedian Bert Kreischer – known for his storytelling and stand-up comedy performances while shirtless – will serve as Florida State University’s homecoming parade grand marshal this year.
FSU’s Alumni Association made the announcement Wednesday as the university gears up for its 2024 “Tuned in to Tradition” homecoming week that will be held from Nov. 16 to Nov. 23. The well-anticipated parade will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22 along College Avenue heading towards the university’s Westcott building.
“This ceremonial role has the honor of leading one of the best homecoming parades in the country,” FSU Alumni Association President and Chief Executive Officer Julie Decker said in a prepared statement. “We proudly invite one of the top comedians in the nation and a member of our FSU alumni family. We can’t wait!”
Kreischer, a Tampa native and 1998 FSU graduate, earned his bachelor’s degree in English with a concentration in creative writing from the university’s College of Arts and Sciences.
