FSU soccer advances to ACC tournament title game, wins in penalty kicks vs. Wake Forest

Florida State soccer advanced to the ACC tournament title game Thursday night, beating Wake Forest 3-1 (1-1) in penalty kicks of the ACC tournament semifinals .

Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Addie Todd saved two Wake Forest (12-4-2) penalties and made five saves in both regulation and overtime to lift FSU (14-2-2) to the championship game.

“We do it [penalties] in practice. So I felt prepared in that moment. Just trusted my instincts and believed in my team that they were going to step up and do their job. So I was just trying to do my best to do my job,” Todd said.

“Obviously it is different, just because there’s a lot more pressure in the moment. But I believe pressure is a privilege. In that moment, I’m just trying to stay where my feet are, stay grounded, believe in my teammates. Just do everything I can to read the ball, read the shooter.”

The Seminoles controlled the first half and were on the front foot for much of the second half as senior midfielder Taylor Huff scored her 11th goal of the season in the 53rd minute to take the lead.
