Florida State HC Mike Norvell Under Fire After Four-Star Recruit’s Awful Game

Florida State head coach Mike Norvell has already been under fire for the team’s historically poor season and now is facing a new round of criticism for the performance of a former top recruit.

The Seminoles fell to 1-9 with a blowout loss to Notre Dame on Saturday, watching the Fighting Irish dominate on both sides of the ball en route to a 52-3 victory.

The high expectations from last season’s perfect record in the 2023 regular season have long since faded, with many fans now pointing fingers at Norvell — both for his coaching and recruiting.

The criticism grew louder on Saturday when former four-star quarterback Brock Glenn struggled against the Fighting Irish defense. He completed just one of his first 10 pass attempts, finishing the game 5-of-18 for 52 yards with two interceptions — including one returned 79 yards for Notre Dame’s final touchdown of the day.

Some fans blamed Norvell for missing out on Glenn signing, questioning his track record as a recruiter.

“Brock Glenn was a massive recruiting miss…like every other signee out of HS by Mike Norvell,” one fan shared in a post on X .
