Last month’s concert featuring Grammy Award winning artist T-Pain was by far the most expensive show performed at the Adderley Amphitheater in Cascades Park.
The sold-out bicentennial celebration cost an estimated $307,270 — more than $95,600 more than the previous record holder when legendary R&B group Earth, Wind & Fire rocked the outdoor venue two years ago.
T-Pain’s concert featured top-tier production that included video walls loaded with graphics as the “Buy You a Drank” rapper danced and belted his biggest hits to a crowd of more than 3,200 fans. The night was capped off with dazzling fireworks that, alone, cost $15,000.
“I still get goosebumps,” said Kerri Post, head of Leon County’s Division of Tourism and Visit Tallahassee. “He really brought it. Just the energy, the love … It was magical.”
She said the concert was akin to first-rate productions in Las Vegas, where T-Pain had done several shows before touching down in the capital city for the Nov. 10th birthday bash..
