FHP: Hit-and-run leaves 9-year-old boy in critical condition; driver sought

Law enforcement is seeking the public’s help to find an SUV driver that they said left a 9-year-old boy in critical condition.

The wreck happened shortly before 4 p.m. Wednesday in Crawfordville, Wakulla County, outside the Camelot subdivision off Route 319, according to a Florida Highway Patrol press release.

A red SUV knocked the boy, who was not named, off a motorbike he was riding and left the scene, FHP said. The patrol does not name crash victims in its press releases.

“This crash is under investigation and any assistance … would be greatly appreciated,” the release said. “Contact FHP or the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office if you have any information that will assist in locating the vehicle and driver in question.”
