Tallahassee, Fla. – Parts of North Florida and Southwest Georgia will see rain return by midweek, bringing relief to drought-stricken areas that saw uneven rainfall this weekend.
According to the National Weather Service in Tallahassee, over 1 inch of rain fell across portions of the Big Bend and Panhandle Saturday through early Sunday. Totals were highest near Perry, Blountstown, and Tallahassee, with some areas in Southwest Georgia like Albany and Bainbridge receiving less than half an inch. The latest U.S. Drought Monitor shows abnormally dry to moderate drought conditions still grip most inland counties.
Rain chances climb significantly starting late Tuesday.
