Georgia mayor and wife arrested in child molestation investigation. What we know

The Mayor of Climax, Ga., and his wife were arrested Saturday on charges related to child molestation and child cruelty, following a joint investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office.

Joseph Kelly, 38, faces two counts of child molestation, while Natalie Kelly, 44, faces two counts of second-degree cruelty to children.

Both were arrested following a request from the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office for GBI assistance in examining allegations that the mayor had sexual contact with multiple minors.

Authorities confirmed that the couple was arrested the same day the investigation was launched and booked into the Decatur County Jail…
