Griffin Heights Neighborhood Association holds workshop Tuesday on community improvement grants

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – New projects could be coming to the Griffin Heights neighborhood, but residents and the city are looking for partners.

The Griffin Heights Neighborhood Association held a workshop Tuesday evening for community organizations, nonprofits and businesses interested in applying for small grants to help address community needs. The application period opens next Monday. There’s about $275,000 available for this phase in the Neighborhood First Plan.

“We really really want to put this money on the streets, so we are hoping individuals, organizations, nonprofits that are associated with the Griffin Heights community would put in an application and give us the opportunity to review the proposal and make an award,” said John Baker, the manager of neighborhood affairs for the City of Tallahassee…
