Florida attorney general proposes ‘Missy’s Law’ following death of 5-year-old Tallahassee girl

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier has proposed Missy’s Law, named after a 5-year-old Tallahassee girl whose death in May resulted in the arrest of her mother and stepfather.

Five-year-old Missy Mogle was found unresponsive at a southeast Tallahassee home in May. Shortly after, she was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Her mother, Chloe Spencer, and stepfather, Daniel Spencer, were both arrested after being accused of cruelly neglecting and abusing the young girl.

A week later, the parents were each officially charged with second-degree murder, with court documents revealing that the two are accused of killing the 5-year-old by asphyxiation…
