Florida Weather Outlook: Showers, Thunderstorms Continue Through 4th of July — Sunday Brings First Round to Tallahassee

Tallahassee, Fla. – Stormy skies are set to disrupt weekend plans across the Big Bend region Sunday afternoon, as another summer weather alert targets Tallahassee and surrounding areas with likely thunderstorms by 2 p.m.

According to the National Weather Service in Tallahassee, widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected mainly after 2 p.m. Sunday, June 29. Some storms could become strong, especially after 5 p.m., bringing frequent lightning and heavy rain. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and a half inch are possible, with higher totals in thunderstorm zones. Winds will stay light, but storm bursts could bring brief gusts and reduced visibility—especially along I-10 and major surface routes like Apalachee Parkway and Capital Circle.

By Monday, storm chances continue through the early evening, and showers remain likely well into Monday night. A mix of daytime highs near 87°F and overnight lows around 73°F will carry Tallahassee through a wet start to the week…
