Tallahassee veteran set to pedal for a purpose through Soldier Ride event supporting veteran needs

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A Tallahassee veteran is set to join a group of about 40 other veterans in New York City next week for a three-day Soldier Ride event.

Bill Geiger served in the U.S. Army for 20 years from 1994 to 2014. Now, he wants to encourage his fellow veterans to get outside and get active.

Hosted by the Wounded Warrior Project, the goal of the three-day event is to raise awareness for veteran needs and to give vets a space where they can socialize while being physically active. Participants will be provided bikes suited to their physical needs to ensure veterans facing limitations can also participate.

On July 17, the group will ride through downtown New York City with a police escort, starting in Manhattan and ending in the Hamptons on July 19…
