LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) – A recent audit of Leon County’s financial statements found five “material findings,” meaning the county is at a higher than normal risk of funds being misappropriated, lost or stolen.
The audit does not allege fraud or criminal conduct. However, Commissioner David O’Keefe, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) by trade, said a large organization like Leon County would normally have zero findings and especially not “material” findings, which rank worse than “significant” findings.
