Tallahassee commissioner calls on fire fee exemption for churches, county commissioner pushes back

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Controversy surrounding fire fees is continuing to heat up in the capital county.

Both the city and county commissions voted to raise the fire service fee earlier this summer, and now Tallahassee Commissioner Jeremy Matlow is suggesting a special meeting to discuss a moratorium for churches. He argues that fire fees have been unevenly applied to churches.
