Leon County court workers hope chief judge’s concerns about Clerk Gwen Marshall bring change

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Those involved with the Leon County court system are hopeful that the concerns raised by Chief Judge Frank Allman of Florida’s Second Judicial Circuit recently regarding Leon County Clerk of Court Gwen Marshall will lead to improvements.

Last week, WCTV obtained an eight-paged letter dated June 27, from Chief Judge Allman to Marshall, outlining more than 10 issues that could amount to “neglect of duty.”

Specifically, Allman described “a pattern of excessive delays and ongoing filing and docketing errors resulting in inaccurate court records, with the potential to cause significant due process and/or safety issues,” in the letter…
