Tallahassee Officer Honored for Crime Prevention Work Benefiting Local Neighborhoods

Officer Carl “Tony” Carlson of the Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) has been named the Florida Crime Prevention Association’s Crime Prevention Practitioner of the Year for 2025. He will receive the award at the annual FCPA Crime Prevention Conference. The recognition highlights his work in crime prevention in Florida during the past year.

Officer Carlson has served Tallahassee for 27 years. He leads the Crime Prevention and Community Relations Unit for the Northwest District. He works with more than 20 neighborhood crime watch groups and over 50 homeowner associations. His responsibilities include providing safety education, conducting security surveys, and supporting community programs.
