Raven Watkins is a dual major in anthropology and studio art at Florida State University (FSU). She is from Panama City, Florida, and plans to graduate in Spring 2026. Watkins is affiliated with the College of Fine Arts and the College of Arts & Sciences. She chose FSU for its range of academic programs and the opportunity to study multiple disciplines.
In summer 2024, Watkins studied abroad at FSU’s Valencia, Spain campus with support from the Brooks Rogers scholarship. She attended a biological anthropology field school in Chelva, where she cataloged remains from the Spanish Civil War. This experience increased her interest in the connections between history, culture, and art.
Watkins continued her research with the Tyler Fellowship and the IDEA Grant program. Her current project uses stop-motion animation to present stories from the Spanish Civil War.
