TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – One thousand hot Thanksgiving meals are set to be delivered to families in Tallahassee Wednesday. These meals are going to those who are unable to get to traditional drive-thru food distributions.
This effort is a partnership between Second Harvest of the Big Bend, 211, Keiser University, and DoorDash. Second Harvest CEO Monique Ellsworth said the “thankful delivery program” marks the organization’s first effort to bring meals directly to homes.
“All of our Thanksgiving efforts have been centered around these large drive-thru distributions,” Ellsworth said. “But we know there are families that can’t quite access those, so our thankful delivery program is really an effort for us to eliminate the barrier of transportation that many of the families in our community have.”…
