LEON COUNTY, FL – On Wednesday, December 3rd, 48-year-old Michael Morichelli was arrested in Leon County, Florida, for criminal solicitation to commit first-degree murder after an investigation revealed he attempted to hire someone to kill a family member.
Morichelli, who had previously been booked on stalking charges at the Leon County Detention Facility in Tallahassee, was reported to authorities by an inmate on November 18, 2025. The inmate told deputies that Morichelli had offered money to carry out a murder once the inmate was released.
Detectives with the Leon County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division confirmed that Morichelli initially offered $40,000 to have the murder carried out. When the offer was declined, he later increased it to $50,000…
