Sunshine returns this week!

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – Good Monday afternoon everyone!

I hope you got enough rain! Several inches of rain fell from Thursday to Sunday with most receiving 2-3″ and some picking up even more than that. Meteorologist Andrew Haner with the National Weather Service in Tallahassee reported on the recent rain making the history books. “The 36-hour consecutive stretch of rain (>=Trace) at TLH ending 7pm Sunday goes down as the 2nd longest such stretch on record. The longest stretch at the top of this list was associated with 2012 Tropical Storm Debby, so the stretch from this past weekend had the most consecutive hours of rain on record outside of a tropical system! And unlike 2012 Debby, this weekend’s long stretch of rain caused no flooding.” Impressive!

TODAY: Clouds decrease into the afternoon to partly to mostly sunny skies. It’ll be nice to see some sunshine and we’ll have more in store for a lot of this week! Temperatures will remain chilly today with highs in the upper 50s inland to near 60 on the coast with a chilly light northerly breeze…
