Man arrested, charged with second-degree murder in July shooting in Tallahassee

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Tallahassee police arrested a man in connection with a July shooting near the University Courtyard Apartments.

Derrick McMillian, 26, was arrested on Thursday and charged with second-degree murder, according to TPD.

On July 6, TPD were trying to disperse a large crowd on South Adams Street when a shooting occurred. Officers found one man dead from a gunshot wound near the entrance of the University Courtyard Apartments.

McMillian was seen shooting a gun at the time of the shooting and was taken into custody. He was later released due to limited evidence in the investigation at the time…
