TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State soccer senior defender Heather Gilchrist was named to the Scholar All-America First Team, United Soccer Coaches announced on Thursday.
The honor comes after Gilchrist was recognized on the Academic All-America Second Team by College Sports Communicators on Wednesday. Both national academic accolades are the first of her career.
Gilchrist is the 12th player in team history to earn Scholar All-America honors. It is the 14th accolade overall and FSU’s first since Malia Berkely in 2020 also was on the first team. Gilchrist is the eighth player to be recognized by United Soccer Coaches with both All-America and Scholar All-America distinction in the same season, with Berkely in 2020 also being the last.
