Eww… The arch-rivals are adding numerous G5 assistant coaches to the staff

The arch-rival Florida Gators made headlines this offseason as they hired former Tulane head football coach Jon Sumrall to lead the charge. The program wants to find consistency with their locating someone who get competing for conference and national championships.

The Gators finished with a 4-8 record on the year, which is disappointing, but they did find a way to beat Florida State to close out the year. This is something that did not make the fan base happy because the Seminoles are about to be in Year 7 of the Mike Norvell era after the program elected to retain him for 2026.

Sumrall had success at Group of Five stops such as Troy and Tulane. The Green Wave made the 12-team College Football Playoff and had to play in a rematch against the Ole Miss Rebels. While it did not go well, the arch-rival’s fan base are excited to see a new era with the program…
