TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (CBS12) — A 33-year-old man from Homestead is headed to federal prison for three years after a dramatic police pursuit revealed he was armed with a Glock handgun and a machine gun conversion device hidden beneath his seat.
U.S. Attorney John P. Heekin announced the sentencing on Tuesday, saying, “Thanks to their outstanding work, this dangerous felon is off our streets,” Heekin stated. “The safety of our communities is not negotiable, and we will continue to aggressively prosecute these offenses.”
