Former Tallahassee man sentenced in nationwide tech support fraud scheme

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A former Tallahassee man was sentenced to three years of supervised release for his part in a nationwide tech support fraud scheme, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

John Kuhlmann, 79, was also ordered to pay over a million dollars in restitution.

Court records show that starting in November 2018, Kuhlmann opened two corporations in Florida which were said to provide computer tech services. Neither business was registered as a money transmitting service, but Kuhlmann had opened the businesses to get money from elderly victims…
