New owners pledge to revive Harry A’s

It’s one of the most identifiable restaurants on the Forgotten Coast, a dining spot and bar that from its origins decades ago, was synonymous with St. George Island’s laid-back vibe.

But in recent years, as it changed hands from various absentee owners, each of them a faint shadow of Tallahassee businessman Harry Arnold, who lent his name to Harry A ‘s Bar & Grill, which he founded, the iconic casual spot on the island eventually lapsed into closure a year or so ago, and most recently foreclosure.

This time, though, with new owners Cody McCray and Kyle Shaffer willing to invest $1.475 million to buy it from the bank, Harry A’s looks to have a solid comeback…
