TALLAHASSEE, Florida — Trashad Laron Roberts, a 35-year-old from Tallahassee, Florida, was found guilty by a federal jury of escaping federal custody.
The guilty verdict was announced by John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida. “The terms of supervision at a residential reentry center are not suggestions, they are mandatory conditions of an inmate’s prison sentence that are designed to keep our communities safe. My office will aggressively prosecute any offenders who attempt to abscond from justice,” stated U.S. Attorney Heekin.
In September 2020, Roberts was convicted of possession and distribution of methamphetamine in the Northern District of Florida. He was required to serve four years on supervised release following his multi-year federal prison sentence. Roberts was scheduled to serve the final year of his prison term at a residential reentry center in Tallahassee. Evidence at trial demonstrated that on September 2, 2025, he left the residential reentry center without authorization.
