Chiles girls soccer knocks nation’s top ranked team to advance to state semifinals

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The Chiles girls soccer team is headed back to the state final four for the first time since 2005, and they got there with a win over the top ranked team in the country, back-to-back state champion Ponte Vedra.

The Timberwolves won 1-0, with Charlotte Reynolds scoring the only goal. The Class 5A state semifinals are set for next Friday, with the championship game played on Saturday, February 28th at 4:00. Both the semifinals and the state title games are played at Spec Martin Stadium in DeLand.

The Wakulla boys beat Fort Walton Beach last month for the district title, but they couldn’t beat them Tuesday night to advance to the state semifinals. The War Eagles fell 2-1 to the Vikings in overtime in the Class 4A regional finals…
