Florida State football will be facing an uphill battle with its confidence this season, as it had a 2-10 record in 2024 and capped off a 5-7 campaign in 2025. This is not the expectation for a program that has expectations of competing for championships.
However, this is the reality that the Seminoles face after having six losing seasons in eight years. The days of Bobby Bowden and Jimbo Fisher are long gone. The Florida State faithful have to relive the past in order to achieve a feeling of sustainable success.
This doesn’t mean that Mike Norvell cannot get it figured out. The administration did announce that he would be retained for the 2026 season. This did not give the fan base warm and fuzzy feelings that everything will be okay, though.
