Tallahassee murder: Suspect claims abuse in shooting, records show

The Tallahassee Police Department made an arrest in connection to a Feb. 17 shooting that left one man dead. Gage Champion, 34, was charged with first-degree murder on Feb. 18.

Investigators determined that Champion and the victim knew each other and, on the day of the shooting, both were seen entering the victim’s home on the 2800 block of Mission Road. Now, the probable cause affidavit gives a clearer picture of what went down before the gun went off.

A witness shared with police how they left their home on Feb. 17 around 6:45 a.m., seeing both the Champion and the victim inside, and by the time they returned at 9 p.m. they found the victim deceased on a living room floor…
