Warm weather persists; cold front to bring needed rain

Weather Overview

Several rounds of fog are expected during the late night and early morning hours through Wednesday. Some areas could see dense fog, especially during the morning commute. Drivers should be prepared for reduced visibility and allow extra travel time.

A cold front is also expected to move through the region Wednesday night into Thursday. Rain chances will increase with this system, although the probability of receiving more than one inch of rain is currently less than 30 percent. Forecasters are also keeping an eye on the possibility of a few strong storms as the front approaches.

Short Term Forecast: Tonight through Tuesday

A cluster of showers and thunderstorms is moving through parts of the Southeast this afternoon and evening. A stationary front currently stretches from northern Mississippi through north central Alabama and into central Georgia. This boundary is expected to guide most of the storm activity north of our area.

Fog will once again be possible overnight. The greatest chance for fog will be across the Florida Panhandle and the Florida Big Bend region, with slightly lower chances across southeastern Alabama and southwestern Georgia. Confidence is not quite high enough yet for a Dense Fog Advisory, but conditions will continue to be monitored overnight and into Tuesday morning…
