Tallahassee man sentenced to life in prison in connection to murder at homeless camp last April

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A Tallahassee man was sentenced to life in prison nearly a week ago after being found guilty of shooting and killing another man at a homeless camp in April, according to the Second Judicial Circuit of Florida State Attorney’s Office.

Adam Neeley was found guilty of first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon after a two-day trial, the attorney’s office wrote in a press release Monday.

His sentencing comes after the death of Montel Howard, who was murdered on April 21 at a homeless camp in the woods behind Walmart on Apalachee Parkway, according to the release.

Neeley was accused of shooting and killing Howard after an argument and attempting to hide the victim’s body, according to police. Authorities found the victim’s body “under a mattress and wrapped in a tarp,” WCTV previously reported…
