MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Florida A&M put together the most complete team performance of the event, finishing at even par to win the tournament and separate itself from the field in a statement performance. The Rattlers were the only team to finish at par or better, using consistency across all three rounds to outdistance Alabama A&M (+7) and the rest of the competition.
Florida A&M’s win was powered by Phalatphon Viboonviriyasakul, who finished second individually at 8-under par, just two shots off medalist Robert Woods of Alabama State. Viboonviriyasakul surged into contention with rounds of 68 (-4) and 67 (-5) before closing with a 73 (+1), giving the Rattlers one of the top individual performances in the field.
The Rattlers also showed their depth with multiple golfers finishing near the top of the leaderboard. Taylor Bell placed eighth at 1-over, while Miguel Illas tied for 12th at 6-over. Emilio Garcia tied for 14th at 7-over, Jonathan Scott placed 16th at 8-over, and Sascha Robinson tied for 21st at 10-over as Florida A&M turned in the strongest overall team effort of the tournament…
