Thousands without power in Florida

FLORIDA — Thousands of homes and businesses across Florida are without electricity Monday morning as utility crews worked to restore service following scattered outages across the state.

According to outage tracking site PowerOutage.us, 6,922 customers are reported without power across Florida out of more than 10.9 million customers tracked statewide, representing about 0.06% of customers.

Among Florida’s 67 counties, Duval County reported the highest number of outages with 2,987 customers without electricity. Other counties experiencing notable outages included Franklin County with 710 outages, Miami-Dade County with 383, Bay County with 298, and Wakulla County with 256 customers without power
