TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Families looking to fill their children’s summer days with structured activities will have several options through the City of Tallahassee’s Parks, Recreation & Neighborhood Affairs department, which is offering multiple camps for children and teens starting in June. Registration is required, and some programs have limited capacity.
Playcamp at The Sue, the city’s oldest fee-based camp, was started in 1966 by former Parks Supervisor Sue McCollum. Located near Midtown in the Lafayette Park area, the camp offers small camper-to-counselor ratios and a mix of active and passive games, with access to a 20-acre park area that includes a ballfield, playground, tennis courts and a multipurpose center with a gymnasium and classrooms.
