Testing finds possible toxic chemical contamination in South Tallahassee areas

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Concerns are growing in south Tallahassee after new testing found elevated levels of PFAS — often called “forever chemicals” — in private wells in the Woodville area, raising fears that some residents could be drinking contaminated water without realizing it.

Out of nearly 30 wells tested, 50% exceeded federal safety limits.
