TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Leon County School Board has unanimously voted in favor of deep cuts to the district budget.
Those cuts include:
- A 5.67% reduction in funding for the District Cost Center
- A 2.3% spending cut for staffing
- Cutting spending for arts and athletics by 50%
- Reducing spending for community groups by half
According to a school board document the cost center reductions will come from departmental budget meetings to consolidate positions. There will also be a realignment of responsibilities within district leadership. School leaders will use their
“Evergreen Study” as a roadmap to redistribute positions in the future…
