Unanimous Leon County School Board vote sets staffing, programs reductions in motion

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Leon County School Board has unanimously voted in favor of deep cuts to the district budget.

Those cuts include:

  • A 5.67% reduction in funding for the District Cost Center
  • A 2.3% spending cut for staffing
  • Cutting spending for arts and athletics by 50%
  • Reducing spending for community groups by half
