TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Tallahassee police say a major source of guns used in local crimes is coming from an everyday place: inside vehicles, where firearms are being stolen — often from cars left unlocked.
The message was shared during a meeting between the Tallahassee Police Department, the Tallahassee Urban League and residents from neighborhoods across the city focused on strategies to combat gun violence and crime. Neighbors at the meeting said Tallahassee’s streets are getting tougher and that the discussion was important.
“I’m a former teacher and I have seen the gun violence with some of my former students being killed with some of that gun violence. Iv’e seen it grow.
