WAKULLA COUNTY, Fla. — A Wakulla County judge sentenced Alfreda Nelson to 15 years in prison this afternoon in connection with a January 2025 hit-and-run that seriously injured a 9-year-old boy in Crawfordville.
Judge Brian Miller handed down the sentence in Wakulla County Court, according to a post by the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office. Nelson had been charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving serious bodily injury.
The hit-and-run happened on East Excalibur Drive, where 9-year-old Sawyer Crawley was struck while riding his dirt bike. He suffered severe injuries, including a brain bleed and a broken femur, but has since shown a remarkable recovery…
