Transfer QB FSU wanted the most may have already won the starting job where he signed

We highlighted how one transfer quarterback target FSU pursued looked to be struggling at his spring practices at Baylor. However, it looks like the main target FSU coaches wanted the most may have already won the starting job where he signed this spring.

UNLV’s Anthony Colandrea was the No. 1 target for FSU coaches when they were pursuing quarterbacks from the transfer portal. He was the guy they had the longest relationship with, and the first target they got to visit campus after entering the portal.

Colandrea took the visit in and had his agents with him, who met with FSU staff for a short bit after the visit concluded and promptly left after it was clear FSU was not willing to pay what the agents thought he was worth. Colandrea ultimately signed with Nebraska for approximately $2 million.

I wasn’t a fan of how Colandrea’s agents handled things on their visit. It was clear they were looking for the bag.

It appears that money was well spent by the Cornhuskers, as reports indicate that Colandrea may have already won the job while competing with the backup quarterback from last year…
