FHP: Pickup truck hauling hay catches fire on I-10 in Gadsden County, sparking wildfire

GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) – A pickup truck hauling hay caught fire on Interstate 10 on Tuesday, sparking a wildfire and clogging traffic.

The incident unfolded on I-10 west from exit 166 to mile marker 165. Florida Highway Patrol troopers say the fire spread to the grass and into nearby woods. No injuries have been reported from the incident.

As of about 4:30 p.m., it appears the fire was extinguished, according to Florida 511 cameras. It remains unclear what caused the vehicle fire.

However, law enforcement officials are still urging caution, as smoke could billow onto the roadway as Florida Forest Service Wildland firefighters respond to the scene…
