TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Drivers along Centerville Road in Tallahassee should expect phased road closures and detours starting May 26 as the city begins an electric infrastructure enhancement project aimed at improving reliability and strengthening the power system against severe weather.
The City of Tallahassee will replace power lines and poles along Centerville Road from Hodges Drive to roughly Potts Road. As part of the project, power lines will be upgraded to a stronger, tree-coded cable designed for the canopy road environment along Centerville Road. The project has been engineered so that no planned outages or tree removal are anticipated.
