TAMPA, Fla. — With temperatures expected to reach the mid-90s in Tampa Bay this week, some local businesses are taking extra steps to stay cool, including workers inside food trucks.
At Saucin Wings in Tampa, co-owner David Bonis said the heat can build quickly inside the truck, even with an air-conditioning unit and ventilation.
“It’s got to be in the 90s, easily,” Bonis said. “I mean, when you’re on top of the fryer, you’ve got 300, almost 400 degrees of like hot veggie oil. You got fresh wings in there, we’re whippin’ up mac and cheese. Just concentrated effort. You’re definitely feeling that heat.”…
