TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Troopers arrested a man Friday evening who they said drove on the wrong side of the interstate in an attempt to avoid heavy traffic.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol arrest report, a collision on I-275 near Mile Marker 54 was creating congestion on the interstate around 7:30 p.m.
FHP said this caused multiple vehicles to pull onto the outside shoulder of the northbound lanes and begin backing up to avoid traffic, all while a thunderstorm with heavy rain and strong winds limited visibility and created dangerous road conditions…
