PLANT CITY, Fla. — Hillsborough County Fire Rescue crews extinguished a heavy residential structure fire Wednesday morning at 2207 Allen Drive in Plant City.
HCFR’s Emergency Dispatch Communications Center began receiving multiple 911 calls reporting a house fire at approximately 10:10 a.m. Additional calls came in from motorists traveling along nearby Interstate 4, who reported seeing flames and a large column of smoke rising from the area.
The first unit to arrive on scene encountered a single-story home with more than 50% of the structure fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters initially deployed handlines to launch an interior attack on the blaze, but discovered the fire had already consumed more than half of the roof…
