HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — A lost heifer is recovering after deputies spent eight hours pulling her from thick mud in a tidal canal Friday.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office responded to Double Branch Road on Friday morning. A local resident reported that Veronica, an 18-month-old Gyr heifer, had jumped a fence the previous night and gone missing.
