Florida Franchisee Is Bringing Five New Jimmy John’s To The State

Floridians craving a good submarine sandwich or hoagie don’t have to go far. One can choose from Pub Subs, Subway, or Firehouse Subs to name a few examples. However, there’s another option – Jimmy John’s – and one franchisee in Florida’s Wesley Chapel has signed on to bring five new stores to Florida.

About Jimmy John’s: For Floridians who have never tried this chain, it went from humble beginnings to a billion-dollar company. Jimmy John Liautaud began the company over 35 years ago when his father gave him $25,000 to start a business, with the understanding that he would join the armed forces if his business failed.

Jimmy John decided to start a sandwich business targeting college students. He made the sandwiches in a garage and delivered them to college dorms.

Eventually, the chain that focuses on fresh bread, meats, cheeses, and toppings would expand throughout the United States and far extend the reach of the original garage.

Jimmy John Liautaud eventually sold part of the company to Roark Capital, which also owns Arby’s and Buffalo Wild Wings.
