Unfortunately, Hillsborough County’s Board of County Commissioners is considering repurposing or eliminating another fund designated for affordable housing. After eliminating the impact fee relief for affordable housing earlier this year, they are now considering eliminating the HOPE fund for affordable housing. The same board slashed the “HOPE fund” from $10M to $2M last year and now they are considering eliminating it all together or repurposing it to other areas such as infrastructure.
