Residents in parts of Zephyrhills asked to limit water usage

ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. (WFLA) — The city of Zephyrhills asked residents in specific neighborhoods to continue limiting their water usage as the area recovers from Hurricane Milton.

Residents in the following areas were encouraged to limit their potable water usage and only flush toilets when necessary:

  • Abbott Square neighborhood
  • Oaks of Pasco neighborhood
  • Links of Calusa Springs neighborhood
  • Silver Oaks neighborhood
  • Sarah Vande Berg Tennis & Wellness Center

Officials said these neighborhoods feed into Lift Station No. 28, which was still underwater as of Monday afternoon. Conserving water will reportedly help maintain stability within the system.

Residents who live outside of these areas can safely resume normal water usage for daily activities such as cooking, laundry, showers, and toilet flushing.

However, officials ask that all residents “remain mindful of water consumption” to help alleviate stress on the overall sewer system.
