Teen caught street racing in Wesley Chapel, FHP searching for another driver

WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. (WFLA) — A street racing incident in Wesley Chapel Saturday night resulted in the arrest of a 16-year-old boy, with a second suspect still on the run.

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) released a video showing the 16-year-old driver and his “17-year-old buddy” performing stunts in the middle of an intersection.

Troopers said the 16-year-old from Wesley Chapel “found out the hard way” that street racing is illegal in Florida. However, as of Sunday, they were still looking for his alleged accomplice.

The 17-year-old was reportedly driving a silver Corvette with a Vermont tag.
